Chapel Haddlesey Primary School pupils recently held a ‘Bring and Buy’ sale to raise money for the charity Shelter, that supports families struggling with homelessness. The children organised the sale themselves, contacting parents and asking for donations of teddies, games and books to sell and inviting our families and community to the sale. They also asked parents to donate items of food for the Food Bank in Selby and this was a great success.
Mrs Rachel Lindley, Senior Teacher at the school said, “The children were inspired to help the charity after a feature about homelessness in an assembly really made them consider the plight of others who aren’t as fortunate. The pupils worked together as a team to make the sale a success, raising £100 for Shelter and should be very proud of their efforts”.
